Two Roads (trails) Diverged.

Did Robert Frost have GPS when he took the road less travelled? We certainly didn't. Last weekend (in an effort to take advantage of the scenic recreational opportunities at our doorstep), the girls and I hit the trails in Lynn Canyon. We were hoping to do the 'Lynn Canyon Loop' as I had done it once before, and it seemed like a good place to start. Long story short, we missed one turn, and what began as a two hour hike, doubled in length. Nicola was less than pleased, and we were wet. What started as drizzle, turned into rain, we had no reception, hadn't seen a map in an hour, and only a handful of trail mix between the three of us.

Clearly still happy campers at this point...

Other than the fact that Kristin's husband was expecting her back two hours earlier with the car, I don't think anyone really knew we were missing. Rookie mistake. Lucky for North Shore Search and Rescue (and for us), we weren't lost, as we were on a well marked trail, we just didn't know what trail we were on, and how long this new path was going to take us. Okay, maybe we were lost.

Or perhaps we should have paid attention to this...

There were some technical elements...

We managed to cheer up our friend (to be fair, she had a sore ankle and cold legs), and four hours later, made it back in one piece. Yes, a tale (or trail) with a happy ending.

Actually the best part of our day was warming up with hot tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches at 'The Little' on Lonsdale. If you haven't been, you should give it a try. It's a fantastic (Little) spot, and even had live music that particular Saturday.

What have you got planned for the weekend? I'm hoping to catch a baseball game, and grab some Dim Sum (in no particular order).

On another note, do I not deserve a high-five for posting five blog posts in five days?
